"Considering the procedure of a root canal, I was thoroughly impressed. Pain was a top priority and my comfort was in their best interest. I hope I don't have to go back, but if I need this procedure again, I'll definitely consider Dr. Richards again."
"Everyone in the office was very nice. The Doctor explained in detail the procedures and made me feel very comfortable."
"Great experience. They took the time to explain the process and answer my questions. Did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable and the procedure went smooth."

My response will be admittedly a biased one. When given the possibilities of who to provide your care, the more complicated the procedure, the more important it is to choose the most skilled provider. If you want the best possible result see an Endodontist. Ask if they use a microscope. If not, find one who does. Ask if they have access to CBCT 3-D imaging. If so, request a scan to be done to aid the endodontist in knowing beforehand the canal configuration and open the door for more conservative treatment. Ask if they will complete the treatment in a single visit, or more. I recommend at least 2 visits in order to ensure resolution of symptoms prior to completion. At the second visit (assuming symptoms are resolved), ask the endodontist to place the core filling while the tooth is still protected under a rubber dam.
Following this advice will get you the best possible result. No procedure has 100% guaranteed success, but this recipe will serve you the best.
General dentists do the best they can and help a lot of people. The benefit of a skilled specialist, however, is worth the effort. You will really only get one chance to have this done correctly. Root canal therapy is irreversible and many times even the best endodontist can't repair your tooth if the root canal is done suboptimally the first time. If the tooth is unsalvagable, however, extraction with or without implant, is your only option
