Q: What got you into this specific medical field?
A: Being the daughter of an ophthalmologist, I was 5 years old when I decided that this is the field I was interested in. I used to accompany my dad to the hospital on Saturdays to help him discharge his cataract surgery patients and I thought it would be great to be able to help people see clearly again.
 
Q: What landed you in your city, and what is it that you like about the neighborhood?
A: Elizabeth Y. Holland, MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. The daughter of the late Malvern C. Holland, MD, she returns to Greenville to carry on the tradition of caring, patient centered eye care that was delivered by her father here in Greenville from 1960 until 2001. She is the director and president of the Holland Eye Center, P.C.
 
Q: Where did you receive your undergraduate and professional degrees, and did you participate in any residencies?
A: Dr. Holland is a graduate of Furman University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1995 and completed her ophthalmology residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1999.

A: American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology
 
Q: What investments in your practice equipment and facilities have you made?
A: The equipment that we use is state of the art, keeping up with the changes in the field of ophthalmology. Since we established the clinic in 2010, all of the equipment is new and the most advanced available.
 
Q: What procedures do you feel your practice excels in above others?
A: Cataract surgery, LASIK, premium lens implantation (multifocal and toric)
 
Q: What are the best moments that make it worthwhile?
A: We have the greatest patients and I feel lucky that I get to come to work to see them every day.

A: We are open from 8:00am until 5:00pm daily Monday through Friday
