Glasses prescription too strong?

I just received a new pair of glasses where the strength in my right eye has changed from 8 to 8.25. My left eye is still 8. I mainly wear contacs, but I'd like to try and wear my glasses more. However, my contacts are the same in both eyes, -7. I'm concerned that I will get used to the stronger right eye of my glasses, which will cause me to need a higher prescription in contacts. Is this a possibility? Is it a good idea to have two different strengths in glasses but the same in contacts?

Due to the location of the contacts (on your eye) the prescription will be less minus. So this is probably correct. Wearing too strong of glasses or contact lenses causes eye strain and typically will not change the length of the eye or curvature of the cornea in an adult (the two parameters that primarily determine the power of your glasses, therefore the prescription should not change).
