Is it common for an orthodontist to put braces on 3-4 months before removing two bicuspids? Why would an orthodontist do this? I have a serious overbite after being treated for it already. My orthodontist did not want to finish the treatment so I could get a surgery I do not want.

I have had the orthodontist combine surgery and bracketing in phases if the patient has a large skeletal bite discrepancy, but it is always good to make sure your orthodontist is board certified, and if you are not comfortable get a second opinion from another board certified orthodontist.
