Hi,
Invisalign has come a very long way since the company provided software and manufacturing services in 1999 to the orthodontic community. With an experienced doctor in charge of your daughter's treatment, Invisalign can provide the same if not even better results than traditional braces. It is important however, to seek an expert specialist, specifically an Orthodontist who has reached the Elite level and above for the best results. The end result from braces is also dependant on the skill and experience level of the treating orthodontist. Just because a patient is given braces, there is no guarantee of a excellent result. It all depends on the skill of the Orthodontist. I recommend that whatever option you choose, you do your research and find a specialist in Orthodontics. Make an appointment and ask to see results of finished cases both with Invisalign and braces. That will usually help you in deciding the best option for your daughter. The benefits of Invisalign are less pain, less appointments, no emergency visits, virtually invisible and no change in eating habits. These are also benefits for busy parents who have multiple schedules to juggle, do not look forward to preparing different meals for their children in braces or just want their children to have a pain free orthodontic experience. A word of caution however is that the Invisalign aligners should be worn 22 hours a day for maximum effectiveness. Without that level of participation, the result with Invisalign may not be quite as ideal. I do want to let you know that I am a top 1% Elite provider of Invisalign and have treated over 1100 patients with Invisalign. I highly recommend it to all my patients whether they are teens or adults.
