1/14/15 i had my gallbladder out & he used titanium staples & i am allergic to titanium & i'm still sick can they be removed laproscopically or does it have to be done by cutting me? issues are pressure in chest & through shoulder blades bloating,very tender in abdomen, rash & itching bile in urine also just diagnose with Gilbert's syndrome. I have metal allergies Titanium Aluminum Colbalt Nickel and Chrome I have had titanium removed from my neck and Colbalt from my ankle.

Removal of the clips can be done minimally invasively but is not without risk as previously described. I agree that you need to see and allergist to be certain that any of your symptoms would be related to the clips. Given your complaints, I would be more concerned that you may have a bile duct injury. Did you have evidence of Gilbert's syndrome before your gall bladder was removed?
