If its ever so slight, meaning the broken part is only in enamel, it will probably be fine. If you look close and see a different color at the bottom/inside part of where it broke, that could be dentin showing, which is soft and decays easily. In that case she should get the broken part bonded for sure, to prevent decay and sensitivity. However, I also agree with the others who recommend getting an x ray taken. Sometimes the trauma from a fall can momentarily move the tip of the root, inside the bone. This can stretch the nerves and blood vessels as they leave the tooth and join those in the surrounding jawbone. If so, the nerves can die over time and the tooth could need a root canal. Again, if it is a slight chip, this is probably pretty unlikely, but a baseline x-ray, for comparison in the future, is valuable information, if only for peace of mind. (BTW...with today's digital, computerized x-rays, the exposure is far less than being in the sun for an hour, so dont let "exposure to x-rays" keep you away.)
Hope this Helps!
