Great question! Often enough when patient is numb and a dentist asks to bite hard to verify that the filling was done right, patients thinks he/she bites hard, it feels like they are biting hard, but in actuality there was not enough pressure applied and if doctor is not thorough "high bite" can be missed.
Ask your dentist to check your bite next time you see him.
