Is it worth getting the flu shot this year for my parents?

Are there any age related issues with getting the flu shot? I have heard that in some people it can actually make you sicker. My parents are in their late seventies.

Certainly. The older individuals are at higher risk of complications including death from the flu, so, as long as there are no other reasons such as a history of allergy to eggs or Gullian Barre Syndrome, they should be vaccinated.
