Mcl tears can be temporarily disabling, but fortunately most will heal within 8 weeks. Until then, the ligament should be protected from additional trauma. This is usually accomplished with a hinged knee brace which will still allow for protected motion. Physical therapy can be beneficial as well to maintain range of motion and strength. Unfortunately, not much more can be done to accelerate the process
