Side/back pain

last night I had severe side/back pain on the left side of my rib cage wrapping to the back. Still 6/10; moving 9/10. A muscle spasm of sorts, however, I have had muscle spasms before including my neck.NOTHING like this. Once the intense pain subsided burning pain and pressure set in, lingers and radiates into my arm (currently). Heating pad did nothing, Motrin helped some. Breathing at first hurt with it, but is ok now. Is this truly just a muscle spasm and when will the pain go away?

Although a heart problem is always thought about when chest pain occurs, but your pain does not sound like it. Looking for clues and definitely a visit to your family doctor should be in order.

Look for any rash in the area of pain. It should appear usually within 24 hours of the onset of pain. If not and the pain recurs you may require an examination by your doctors.
