I agree with the doctor below. If you need iron tablets, there's a REASON for needing iron, like heavy periods, or bleeding in the stool. You don't just want to put a bandage on the problem. You want to find it and solve it. If you have ANY hormonal symptoms, including heavy bleeding, please follow the following protocol for 9 months (or forever):

'Want a quick and easy way to start balancing your hormones? Whether it's PMS, infertility, headaches, cramps or plain grumpiness, this simple addition to your day has been shown to help all of these! From day one of your period (the first day you bleed), take 2 TBSP of GROUND flax/chia/pumpkin seeds. Choose any seed you like, but be sure to grind them first. Flax seeds are conveniently sold ground already. Then, 2 weeks later (15 days from start of bleeding), switch to ground sunflower or sesame seeds. If your period is very irregular, you can use the moon cycle: day 1 of the month is the new moon. Then, on the full moon switch to sunflower/sesame seeds. The flax/chia/pumpkin seeds contain oils and compounds that support estrogen, and the other seeds support progesterone, right when we need it. Because this is very powerful, do not use this if you are using any kind of hormonal contraception. Do not use if you are allergic to any of these seeds. You can start this any day of your cycle. There is no need to wait until day 1.'

If you like your Doctor and feel that he/she was thorough, then going back for more info/testing would be a good idea. If you gave us all the info said to you, then I think you should consider going to a new Doctor that will cast a wider net and be more detailed and involved in your care.

Iron levels and intake are a complex and critical issue. Make sure you have a great Doctor to manage your condition. I recommend going to a Functional Medicine Doctor (http://orangeparkchiropractor.com/functional-medicine/)

and also a Chiropractor to realign the joints in your body, helping tremendously with the fatigue.

Hi,

I went to my doctor and he moved a white stick on both feet to test if I could feel it and I could. He said it might be restless leg syndrome but I still don't know for sure. He said it could be dut to iron deficiency and has increased my dose for Ferous Sulphate tablets to twice a day. I habe contacted a function medicine doctor and I am looking for other clinics (chiropractor/sleep clinic) to find out if I can get help if symptoms persist. If anyone has further advice, please share!

Okay, my current doctor only asked me if I have heavy periods and I said yes and he to!d me to just take iron tablets twice a day. He didn't mention any dietary advice whilst taking meds. I'm not sure if I should see him again or see my other doctor who might be better. I woke up and my lower !eft leg is still aching non stop.
