I've been experiences changes in my vision and I am unsure whether or not I need glasses. When I was younger I was told I would need glasses. I've been having trouble reading things and I often find myself holding my books close to my face when I read. I have also been experiencing headaches everyday. I would get my eyes checked, but I'd like someone's opinion first.

Do I need glasses?

It definitely sounds like the visual problem you're experiencing stems from difficulties with changing your focus. So....to the eye doctor, you must go. That is truly the only way to determine the level of refractive power needed to see clearly. I suspect you probably have a clinically significant astigmatism.
18 year old female? Seems odd to me. Ordinarily one might assume your complaints from someone much older.
There is little need to ask us if you need an exam. It clearly says someone told you in the past you needed glasses. My first thought was that you were far-sighted. Problem is, far-sighted people hold things further rather than closer. You need an exam as everyone else has said. Headaches daily just don't occur routinely.

A comprehensive eye exam is really the best way to answer this question. First they will determine if glasses would help your vision for either far or near. Sometimes patients can have other vision problems that affect reading like accommodative ( focusing ) problems, or convergence ( eye muscle ) problems that affect reading. If you already have an eye doctor I would go back there. But if you don't you might want to look for an eye doctor that has special training in reading and learning problems.
Your symptoms are vague so it's hard to offer a great opinion but you may be becoming myopic (near sighted) or be developing astigmatism. A proper diagnosis thou needs to come from your eye doctor. I strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment with your eye care provider soon.

A 'no-brainer'. You've got everything to gain by getting your eyes checked. You may enjoy reading, suffer fewer or no headaches (assuming they are related to your vision/eyes) and enjoy the world better. No worries should you need glasses - they definitely will not make your eyes worse. I'd get off the 'fence' and get into your eye doc's office for a pain-free experience!
